Ocean Paddling

There were some very tired people last night, so staying up later than the talk about kayak gear, and clothing in particular, wasn’t an option! The rain did continue for the earlier part of the night but had cleared by this morning, and we ended up with a very warm summer’s day; the car registered 33°C on the way home this afternoon.

The tuition and practicing continued this morning, with people honing their newly found skills, or paddling out past the two Heads, out towards the ocean. The ocean swell was getting higher and higher, and was about 2m. Sitting on top of the swell and looking down into the bottom seemed to be a rather long way! In this image, 2 of the people I was kayaking with are on the top of a swell and I’m looking up towards them; one hand on the camera, one hand on my paddle, and fingers crossed that nothing untowards happened while I was getting the shot! I didn't quite get enough of the swell at the bottom unfortunately, so it's not really showing it well. You'll need to go Large to see it better.
