Wild Horses

On a back road outside of Reno Nevada I saw these wild horses. Some facts:

In 1971,  Congress passed the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act.

As of the end of 2014 there was 23,347 wild horses in Nevada. The healthy range is around 13,000

Every year there is a round up and BY LAW horses are either adopted out or sold to no kill buyers (Horse farms, Rescue shelters and..) 

Since 1971, more than 235,000 horses and burros have been adopted out.
