Bangkok, old house close to a canal

finally we are settled a bit, had to change hotels 2 times. so this is the 3d hotel, right on the river. the river is an all day event. boats pass all day long, some extremely fast: the long-tail boats, with a lot of noise. others very, very slow: the long low lying boats carrying goods, cement, and who knows what else. they seem to be whole universes, with small huts where the laundry hangs out to dry, and other not too identifiable objects and of course their load, covered in cloth. these boats seem endlessly long and are pulled by quite small boats. it takes 10-15 minutes for them to just pass by where i am sitting.

I go about in very casual clothes in this city, quite different than in India where i wear Salwar-or churidar kameez. everyone is relaxed.

we take boats from one end of the city to another, or maybe just for some stops to go visit a temple, have a massage (oh, those massages!!! you get pulled and pressed and rubbed and after feeling that you have all but been pulled apart, after one hour or usually a bit more-or 1.5 hour, a whole new you gets up, refreshed, de-blocked and smiling.) go to the many street-food stalls-and many other things one can do here, all with ease and some fun-feeling. ask a Thai if something is possible and they say can! can!!

the day is bright, after many grey and oppressive days: i go out now!!
