Birds in the hand
Some of our bird club members led a group of interested birders on a walk around the Pretoria Country Club this morning.
The main focus however was a session of bird ringing by members of our ringing group.
Was good to see a couple of young new trainee ringers in action. Apart from a number of competencies that are required, a trainee needs to ring 500 birds of 50 different species.
Pictured above clockwise are Southern Masked Weaver, 2 Red-winged Starlings and a Speckled Mousebird.
