Farewells and reunions

Today we said farewell to Lawrence. It was a fantastic turnout for the funeral, with a wonderful homily and three superb eulogies from his sons.

It's strange how, as you get older, funerals are not just sad occasions but also become reunions with people you haven't seen for so long. That was certainly the case today when I came out of the church and there were just s0 many familiar faces.

The reception afterwards was a chance to catch up with some really good old friends, including Steve and Dave. The three of us were Scout Leaders together under Lawrence and we shared plenty of memories today.

R.I.P. Lawrence. We'll miss you.
