Tulips

That's what the box said. This little bucket of bulbs was given to me last November. I was with my sister shopping in Sainsbury and she bought it fait accompli.

The leaves appeared and looked fine but we couldn't see how it would flower, and then all was revealed. These delicate little flower heads are developing in the lower part of the leaf, you can see one on the right about to pop out.
