Not so Young Hare
fac·sim·i·le (noun): an exact copy, especially of written or printed material
Managed to visit the Albertina for the first time in about 10 trips to Vienna. Albrecht Dürer's 'The Young Hare' is worth the price of the ticket alone, albeit that the image on display is a facsimile. According to the museum, the painting may be displayed only twice for a period of three months each during every ten years. It was exhibited last year so I assume one has to wait another 5 years to see it (for real) again. Amazing too to think it was painted in 1502.
