A Final Beer
Today our daughter departs for the United States. I have written previously about the loss I feel each time she passes through security after her visits south, so I will spare everyone those ramblings this year. She arrived exactly three weeks ago and the time she was here flew by (hastened by a week of volleyball in Ixtapa with South of the Border Volleyball Vacations). I suspect she will not have this much time to spend with us in the future, grad school (maybe) and jobs will consume much of her free time in the years to come. I still remember her as a young girl (and unfortunately treat her that way at times), but in reality she has grown into an accomplished young woman able to order a beer in the airport before she once again takes off into a new adventure. Life will certainly be a duller here without her bright spirit and infectious laughter, but we should have the time to catch up on unfinished tasks.
