Skeletal Winter Tree

I have always admired this tree which is set in a little valley in the foothills of the Lammermuir Hills. However, I have never been able to take a decent photo of it because it is difficult to isolate it from its background. I thought as an exercise I would try and compare an ordinary monochrome version with and infra-red capture. On both versions I still had to do some selective adjustment to isolate the trunk of the tree from the surrounding gorse. I would be interested to hear which you feel has been most successful. The IR version is at the bottom and the straightforward monochrome at the top so you could easily indicate your preference by saying top or bottom.
