The trouble is that nowadays people will assume this a Photoshop job!

They are repainting the post boxes here at the moment, and if you look around the base of the box in this photo you will find some evidence (if not conclusive) that this picture has had minimal manipulation (just crop, basic exposure etc) - there is some spray on the ground.
