St John the Evangelist, Waterloo

I've been virtually housebound for the last three weeks with a nasty bug so today was a real treat. Together with four friends I went to Waterloo Station Mezzanine Level to view the selected prints for The Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition. I'd read mixed reviews of the exhibition and I was determined to go with and open mind and make my own judgement. 
I've seen the last two exhibitions at The National Theatre where all prints were mounted and framed and located in quite an intimate viewing gallery. The mezzanine is very open and hardly intimate and this year the prints are not framed. I feel the presentation and display is excellent. Another year of superb and creative images, many if which I find truly inspirational. I may not agree with all the awards but then I can't expect to encompass the collective responses and judgements of the eight judges. It was though, well worth the visit.
We lunched on the mezzanine layer at the Sport Bar & Grill and whilst seated I spied today's blip through a window. I was rather sceptical as the glass looked filthy but I think I got away with it. I was struck by the 19th century building being surrounded by more modern structures and lots of evidence of new structures being built.
