Road to the Ancients
We spent the day up in Edmonton visiting the "Indiana Jones" exhibit that is currently being featured at the science centre. I have loved the Indiana Jones movies since I was a kid, so, for me, going to see the props and costumes was very exciting. Once we were there, I was surprised to find that the exhibit was not only showing things from the movies, but they brought in many actual artifacts that had connections with/inspired elements the movies. Even better, camera's were permitted and encouraged provided flashes weren't being used.
This is one of the artifacts. It's one of the earliest known maps from the ancient world. This map, while not to scale, shows farm land in ancient Babylon, with roads and waterways that flowed through them, and who had the ownership rights to each plot. One of the plots on this map is even labelled something to the extent of 'land seized by the king'...
