At last I saw the surgeon and the decision has been made. 
I'm on the waiting list for hip re-surfacing.
It was such a relief that he agreed without hesitation. I was afraid he would say it wasn't bad enough and that I'd have to wait for years, instead of which, it won't be more than 9 months. ) 9 months wait is quite reasonable considering that I have chosen the surgeon, the hospital and the device.
