Reflection on two possessions
I bought this shiny, blue-tiled and rusty tin Moroccan mirror on impulse in a lovely antique shop (Stray Cat) in Bridport for £15. Sheds a tiny bit of light into a very dark corner and pleased me when I noticed it this morning.
The reflection is of a photorealistic pencil drawing of my beloved Poppy by my fine artist daughter, Bea Hammond, which she did when she was fifteen. She gave it to me for my birthday twelve years ago. It's one of my most treasured possessions in a way the mirror could never be.
