Brrrr, I'm Home

After having some room service for breakfast, we finished packing and brought our luggage down to the lobby to get our ride to the airport.  It was a very smooth check in and we had plenty of time to look around in some shops at the airport before we had to board the plane.

The plane ride was a little bumpy which I actually like in a weird way.  Before long and just as I was starting to doze off, we were landing in New York.  I could see the snow on the ground as we were landing and the pilot announced it was 20F so I pulled my sweater out of my carry on bag and put it on.  What was I thinking?  A sweater!!  I needed a ski jacket and ski pants after being in 86 degrees and humid!

We had to wait for our ride outside at the passenger pick up area and it took a while for us to find him.  I was so cold I wanted to open my luggage and jump inside with the dirty laundry.  Eventually we found the driver and he had the car all warmed up with the heat going full blast when we got in.

I decided not to take a picture of the snow since I might need that for future blips and instead I took a picture of the famous Verrazano-Narrows Bridge as we drove by.  A double-decked suspension bridge that is only surpassed in size by the Humber Bridge in the UK.  When I was growing up we drove over this bridge nearly every weekend to visit my grandparents in Brooklyn.  I remember my siblings and I would all take turns asking my dad to take either the upper or lower levels.  I liked upper level at night when the bridge was all lit up and the lower level during the day so I couldn't see how high up we were from the water.

I'll miss the warm weather in Puerto Rico but I'm happy to see my grandchildren and my puppy and to sleep in my own bed tonight.
