That's what they call it now - it's not a compilation, it's a tracks curated by ... No, it's a compilation although I don't suppose compilations are much of a thing any more. Of course before streaming, shuffle and Blipfoto compilations were an important part of life and how it was defined and remembered. The collection of tracks you listened to on a bus to Austria when you were 14. The tape you made for your girlie when she went off to Canada on holiday without you. The tape the DJ at Maestros made for you that reminds you of all the months you worked there. That sort of thing. 

Since the day's excitement was to be working at home and finally crack connecting to the office network by VPN, Spotify and the iTunes library stored on the server were out of action so it was out with the minidiscs. A day of reminiscing in the store with a heater at my feet and cracking on with lots of little tasks that had been piling up.

And then off out on the bike for an extended trip to the Scotmid for a bottle of wine and then back to make the Scrumptious Spanish Chickpea and Chorizo Soup picked out by Mandy. And it was scrumptious.
