Remembering

A powerful piece in the radio this morning was in interview with a survivor of Auschwitz recalling his last memory of his parents and sisters. 70 years on he sobbed at the memory.

As the sun was rising I tried a shot or two of a candle against the light but the wind kept blowing it out. On reflection I prefer this to a lit candle as it signifies the lives extinguished.

It was then on to a day of discussing with the team how we might improve our ways of working and internal communication. Lots of good ideas and an action plan formed. During the discussion one of the staff mentioned the need to respect one another. A fitting comment for the day.
