Tractor Tuesday challenge!!
I have decided to use a tractor in Tuesday blips as a bit of a challenge. Please feel free to also join in!! They will either be of the toy variety or the real variety! It will all depend on the weather!
Todays Tractor is a rather topical one, and especially so for my blip friends in the midst of the horrible snow storms in the US.
This is a Ferguson TE20 which was adapted for use on the expidition to the South Pole in 1958. Sir Edmund Hillary and his team used 5 of these TE20 to transport their supplies over the treacherous terrain to set up supply camps. The press described the expidition as ' The Last Great Journey in the World' , but the official a title was The Commonwealth Trans-Antartic Expidition 1955 - 58. One of the Tractors was affectionately named Sue! A telegram was sent to the Massey Harris Ferguson company as follows.
' Despite quite unsuitable conditions of soft snow and high altitudes our Fergusons performed magnificently and it was their extreme reliability that made our trip to the pole possible. Stop. Thank you for your good wishes .= Hillary'
A very famous little tractor !
Farming - two on mushroom compost . Rusty back on duty but VERY miffed as one driver last week dented his trailer! He was not amused as he is very careful and very proud of his kit! Mr Tbay Jnr spent most of the day helping a widowed friend to set and use her sawbench and then produce a good pile of logs with it! Whilst he was busy doing that Mr Tbay was busy doing the quarterly VAT return! It's nice to be able to lend out ones husband and son!!
For me, yes you guessed , book work!!
