It is always a more complicated choice when you have lots of photos to choose from. I experimented a little with my new camera today played safe keeping it on auto. I was pleased with this one as the colours really stood out. I am going to load some of my photos onto Flickr but not sure that I can make a direct link because that facility remains unavailable to me.
Preparing to write........
Anyway I want to tell you a little bit of my day and my routine for the next few days. To make sure that I undertake some writing I am prioritising the mornings for each writing task. I am a virgin novelist despite having written lots of academic material and indeed a book on Cricket, this is my first attempt at a novel. Whether I am doing it the right way who knows?
Some while ago I prepared a storyboard which navigates me through the different sections of the book. I have likened my approach to a patchwork quilt. At the moment I'm focusing on each of the patches separately. Once I'm happy I have sufficient patches I will begin to knit them together into I hope a coherent and pleasing whole. That will no doubt be the difficult task for the moment I am writing each section with some awareness of the whole story but as yet without the stitching together.
Before I arrived in Whitby I done around 52,000 words. My aim is to try and write around 3000 words per day. Once I have achieved that goal I will take a break, take my camera, find a nice cafe for lunch and sort out a blip for the day. When I return to the flat if the mood takes me I can write some more or I can rest, read, watch TV and of course eat. So until Saturday this should be my routine.
This morning I wrote 2028 words as well as doing corrections of some of the already written materials. This gave me a great start. I set off for Sandsend To try my camera, have some lunch and I felt that I have had a productive day. Tonight I will be trying to catch up on all blips and thinking about what patch I shall 'knit' tomorrow.
