Cicada

Spotted this cicada on a branch - mainly because he was making a lot of noise. They camouflage really well on the branches.  It is not as sharp as I would have liked but it is the only shot I have today.

Cicadas are such a sign it is mid summer.

Most of the family go early tomorrow morning, leaving just my son here - until he goes on Friday. It is going to feel strange without them.
