Familiar Beauty
On our early morning walk, Music and I encountered beauty in many forms. Familiar beauty can be photographed countless times before you really see what you are seeing. This morning I photographed a scattering of pinecones on a slope overlooking the harbor with its boats. And then I was moved to get closer, fascinated by the form of an individual cone. My camera surprised me with a clarity not usual. I did crop this one, and I tried for mono, which was pretty nice, but I couldn't bring myself to relinquish the rich red-brown color of the pinecone's depths.
