Goode Interview

Back on the promotion trail again today after a weekend staying with my daughter in Swindon. Had a live slot on the Jo Goode afternoon show on BBC Radio London, and enjoyed a nice relaxed chat with the former Crossroads star talking about "Runaway", which came in at No.2 in The Times on Saturday.

However, a shadow was cast over the weekend by the deterioration in the condition of my poor wife, Janice, who has succumbed from nowhere to a virulent attack of shingles. She has been in extreme pain as the disease attacked the top right quadrant of her head. At home on her own, and unable to drive, she was determined to wait till I got home before seeing a doctor, in the hope that it might have passed its worst by then. But when I Skyped her on Sunday morning I was shocked and frightened to see that it had gone into her right eye. I immediately called neighbours and had her rushed to a nearby medical clinic. The doctor prescribed anti-virals, cream to put in the eye and painkillers. But she looked even worse when I spoke to her today - the eye swollen closed, she looked as if someone had puncher her. She is absolutely miserable, and I can't wait to get home.
