being a Border Terrier, has the unfortunate ability to whine until you go insane.  Often it's because his ball is out of reach and he needs you to get it out of whichever inaccessible corner it's rolled into.  In this case it's a persistent, gentle whine that eventually penetrates to the core of the brain, until you can bear it no more and finally get down on hands and knees and oblige... But that's nothing compared with the all powerful 'feed me' whine (which is accompanied by the 'intense pleading look' which, if ineffective, evolves into the 'evil eye glare of resentment') that is guaranteed to result in the immediate serving of his dinner! 

This blip shows the transition from 'intense pleading' to 'evil eye'!  
But isn't he a beauty? :-)
