Airthrey Loch
The campus buildings of Stirling University were planned round Airthrey Loch. This is a man-made loch presumably to serve Airthrey Castle, a Robert Adam designed historic building. The castle itself is now part of the University, but until 1969 was a maternity hospital and there are a good many local people born there. As well as the loch, campus grounds include mature woodland and landscaped parkland. Stirling campus is considered to be one of the most beautiful (if not the most) in the UK. As you can see from my photograph the built environment is less gorgeous.
Had a quick coffee and catch up with someone who works at the university and whom I've known for 19 years, as we decided today. Seems like yesterday. Lovely to see her.
