..and also 'invasion day'.
As I become a grumpier old woman with every day,  national days seem to be less about one for celebrating but more for contemplation.
There are usually many sides to the story especially in colonies.

Our world is just a global village and a small lump of rock in the universe.
In our little street, the inhabitants represent all the continents (apart from the big, southern icy one!) so perhaps we should celebrate our place on the planet and in the universe and take a broader view.
