Kolam

Today is Republic Day in India and as well as the major celebrations, smaller ones are taking place too.
This is a Kolam pattern of welcome and celebration from the school I am visiting. The patterns are drawn freehand, sometimes using rice flour sometimes sand.
I love the colour and joy in the pattern. India is good at celebrations.
