Uncovering The Past
The Bluebell Railway has a very fine collection of vintage carriages. 668 is currently undergoing restoration dates from 1897 and was built for the London Chatham and Dover Railway. It survived in service until 1935 and then became part of a bungalow down in Devon.
Currently about two-thirds of its way through restoration 668 will return to traffic as 3188. Stripping down the years of paint and varnish has revealed the outline of its original 'branding'
