But, then again . . . . .

The Big Garden Bird Watch.

This is my two year Blip Birthday, it’s a pity that it’s taken me two years, one month and five days to achieve it. Right at the beginning I said that, because I’m a busy boy, I didn’t guarantee any sort of regularity or quality and I feel that, recently, I’ve sort of lived down to that expectation.

We always do the Big Garden Bird watch though I'm not quite sure why, it's usually a disappointment. The week leading up to it is often cold and and/or wet and we have loads of birds visiting our patch, then on the day itself, the weather is mild and they all bugger off to the nearby  woods where the pickings are bountiful. We shouldn't really complain as we have many more birds to report than most people have; our most populous species today was the sparrows with a count of 15 which is higher than most people's grand total.

The relatively high shutter speed to stop the birds movement gave me a high ISO and so quite a lot of noise. I have a project to improve the bird feeding arrangements this spring to improve the photographic results.
