Edwardian elegance

Over 100 years ago, an architect by the name of E Godfrey Page, with A.R.I.B.A. proudly written after his name, and offices at 2 Old Sarjeants Inn, Chancery Lane, drew up plans for a new house in a country location. The plans are a period piece from the Edwardian era, beautifully drawn with care and artistic precision. The largest of them is framed and on the wall of our hall - in the house in question.

I love the Edwardian era of architecture, less ornate than Victorian but with features that started to disappear in the 1920s. As for the country location, it is rather more built up here now than it was in the early years of the 20th century! But not enough to deter the pesky moles still burrowing destructively under our lawn, unfortunately.
