Westminster Station - Jubilee Line Extension

This Piranesi like view is of descent to the Jubilee Line at Westminster Underground Station.

The JLE was opened in December 1999.  The construction of what was then the deepest ever box excavation in central London for the new station, caused great concern about the foundations of Big Ben which is just across the road.  However all was managed without mishap.
