Dredger

9.4C and dull with cloud all day. Light breeze.

After the grocery shopping was put away Apothecary7, Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath. We had a wander round the harbour then walked up the High Street to the Abbey and walked back down to the harbour in a rough loop. Just for a change.

The dredger Shearwater was still tied up in the outer basin. The tide was very low. One fishing boat was tipped up with its bow in the water and its stern high and dry, its stern rope having been left tied far too tight.

I like this one large !

Burns night. There will be Haggis ... with a spicy Shiraz !
The Haggis will be addressed with verses one and three (during which the sgian-dubh is wielded):

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,

Great chieftain o' the pudding-race!

Aboon them a' yet tak your place,

Painch, tripe, or thairm:

Weel are ye wordy o'a grace

As lang's my airm.

His knife see rustic Labour dight,

An' cut you up wi' ready sleight,

Trenching your gushing entrails bright,

Like ony ditch;

And then, O what a glorious sight,

Warm-reekin', rich!
