Witch Hazel
We went to buy a red witch hazel today to complement our regular yellow one which is coming into bloom with its strange little flowers. We didn’t find a good red one, but came home instead with Parrotia Persica Vannessa or Persian Ironwood, a close relative which has tiny red flowers from February and beautiful glowing purple to red leaves in autumn. A nice addition to our growing family of trees and shrubs at the bottom of our garden.
