Up THERE?
Waiting at the start of leg 3 of the Devil's Burdens relay race in the Lomond Hills, on a beautiful sunny day. It was also cold and, especially after rain yesterday, there was a lot of ice which didn't make running easy. Nor did that hill we had to go up at the start - straight back up the way the leg 2 runners slipped and slid down. And yes, it was at least as steep as it looks here.
We ran in pairs; my team-mate, John, is faster than me but set me a really good pace and I'm sure I would have been slower on my own. I struggled more than I should have on the uphills but not too bad downhill. At the checkpoints I let John stamp the card while I kept running.
Mrs RT was also running - leg 1 for another of our club's 3 teams.
Once we'd all finished it was off to Edinburgh for a meal and to watch films from the Banff Mountain Film Festival - our Christmas present from our daughter and her family, rounding off a brilliant day.
