Been in this joint more times than I care to remember and especially of late. It gets a mixed review in the beer guide, but I think it's in the top 3 no nonsense drinking shops in town and the clientèle mix is exactly that...mixed. Don't visit Edinburgh without giving Broughton Street a try, it's worth it.
