Déjà vu

Here's a picture of our wee girl at six days old, and here's a picture of her brother at a similar age.  

It was neck and neck between this picture and an official passport photo today.  Given her expression in the passport I think she'll be happier with this one.

As I've mentioned before, we're planning to head back to the UK at the end of March, via a two week vacation along Route 66.  However, because our little lady was born outside of a hospital, we have to travel down to San Diego to officially register the birth.  The health department require this be done within the first 10 days but unfortunately they're fully booked until March 4.

Unfortunately that means her passport application can't begin until March.  Having been in touch with the UK Consulate in Los Angeles, they advised that we arrange emergency documents for our wee one.  Thankfully she doesn't need to attend but I'll be required for a 90 minute interview.  The consulate were very understanding on the phone (far more than the registration department) and are confident that something can be arranged.  


Time is on our side at the moment.
