Beautiful Woman

It is strange what we choose to remember and how much we forget.

This was brought home to me tonight when I photographed this statue with the new lens.  This is another object that has been with me since I was first married but I could not remember how or why it had come into our possession.

When I asked Mr. T, he was incredulous.  "Surely you remember that we went to dinner with Penny and Ian and they had invited two friends who had a stall at Kensington Antique Market."?  "No", my memory was not jolted.  Anyway, apparently, they offered us this statue free of charge.  

I thought your long term memory improved as you got older but not in this case.  I should have remembered this random act of kindness from two strangers, but I didn't.  I couldn't even remember going to dinner with this Penny and Ian who we haven't seen since.

I do though still love this statue.
