Street food...

I made an attempt to get out and about with my camera today. The first time since before Christmas. I intended to head into the city centre but when I got to the Chorlton tram station, the trams were terminating there and they were putting people onto buses. Well I was having none of that. Buses aren't my favourite form of transport and in my present condition I wasn't getting on one. The tram takes minutes to get into the city, buses take a lot longer and I didn't think I could cope with it.

So I decided I'd go for a walk round Chorlton and see what I could find. But I only got as far as the Four Banks Crossroads when I gave up. It was cold and it wasn't working for me. So it was back to the car and home again.

But before I aborted my mission I'd passed my favourite Post Box Cafe where I stopped for a coffee and some cheesecake. Outside, the cafe had invited a little competition and there were some stalls selling hot street food. Street food is big in the UK these days. We've imported the idea from the big cities of Eastern Asia and the like. While it works well in tropical Bangkok or Hong Kong, a January in Manchester is quite a different proposition. Having said that, the stalls had a constant queue of people waiting for the food.

If it is sunny and dry on Monday, I'll attempt to go into the city take some pictures.....
