The Last Crumbs

It's official, the Christmas Cake has all gone. It was particularly delicious and the recipe has already been passed on to a friend. I must remember to get it back from her, sometime in the next 10 months.
Today was a drama day. A major operation started on the Aga to detach it from the hot water tank and remove the boiler. This entailed water dripping through the kitchen ceiling, a complete strip down of the insides of the Aga, much cursing, and a layer of dust throughout the kitchen.
Whilst this was going on I received 'An Announcement' from work about our recent reorg - the final results was 2 people left last week, 2 people chose redundancy and 2 didn't get a placement in the new structure so we're made redundant. Its sad to see colleagues go who I had worked with regularly.
The day ended on high - we left our cold kitchen to head off to a friends for a Burns Supper and lovely evening.
