BARA BRITH

I like my street some of the time... I love the winter sun when I'm returning home - going the other way I'm looking for shade - not to be blinded.

This afternoon went down town to buy ingredients for Bara Brith - Welsh for "speckled bread". Mouse sent me home from Orkney with a handsome wodge & I gave a slice to Cécile who went into orbit on tasting it. So...

Decided to reproduce the Mouse recipe & succeeded in getting all the necessary apart from dark sugar & baking powder - ho hum...

Funnily enough I prefer Plane trees in winter :o)
