Learning day by day

Aha, oho a trail...

After violin (we are getting closer to starting on the bow, at which point I will invest in industrial strength ear plugs), we headed over to Wendover Woods where we met up with 3/4 of the Waters family. We arrived first and had a play on the park, 20mins of that and despite two pairs of gloves my fingers were in pain. The kids were not bothered.

The Waters arrived and we managed to bag an indoor table for lunch, which was definitely a result I can tell you. After lunch we followed the Gruffalo's Child Trail and basically got muddy. Stopped to try and build a den but the cold got the better of me and the Littlies so we headed on, much to Will's disgust to see the Gruffalo. Then M realised that we were near the café and decided it was time for ice cream! Seriously, apparently so. So four ice creams and two hot drinks later everyone was happy. Carys climbed ridiculously high up a tree and then kindly helped Will up and down. I closed my eyes to it, it is more than my heart can stand.

Home the kids had tea and I had a hot bath to thaw out. Will crashed and burned quite quickly. Carys is about to have her bedtime story read. (We have finished The Animals of Farthing Wood and are onto in the grip of Winter).

Tomorrow Will has a party and I am taking Carys to watch the Bolshoi Ballet's Swan Lake at the cinema. She doesn't know yet, I can't wait to see her face when I tell her.
