Messages From Tahrir

The day before the fourth anniversary of the Egyptian Revoluiton of 25th January, there seem to be no messages coming from Tahrir Square. The government response to the occasion has been muted and all celebrations canceled as a sign of respect to the death of the Saudi king this week.

Certainly there will be none of the vibrancy present that was captured in the photos in this book of post cards. I was surprised to see it for sale on this shelf and must go back on Monday when the shop is open and buy it as an increasingly scarce reminder that any revolution ever took place.
