Giant Dragonfly
Today we were in the botanical gardens by the pond with the walk bridge. There was this giant dragonfly, it was about eight feet below me away fliting around the lily pads, it took an age for it to settle so I could get a image of it. The tripod wouldn't fit to the confines of the bridge so I had to rest the camera on the railing and hold my breath. I'm quite pleased with the result, there were also blue damselfly's in the same area and they were harder to spot but I did manage to get a couple of good images of these too . These were taken on my Canon sx 50 hs bridge camera that has an optical 1200mm zoom. The more I use this camera the more I appreciate what it can do.
