Day 7

This is Bathsheba on the beautiful rugged, natural sparsely populated east coast. We had anather free 4.5 hour coach tour with s friendly amusing coach driver/ guide called Richard. He took us through many of the 11 parishes and told us many interesting facts about the history of Barbados. Our first stop was Cherry Tree Hill. The cherry mahogany tree is a protected species of tree, and punishable with 6 months in prison for chopping one down! Same goes for not sending your children to school. They take education very seriously! We stopped at a rum shop, many of these are dotted around, as are many churches mostly anglican but also others. The only female parish is st Lucy! Our hotel resort us in St Peter. The richest part is St James and our driver pointed out the places where famous people lived including Cliff Richard, Simon Cowell, Cilla Black, Rhianna (local), Edfie Grant (local), Richard Branson ( he paid a fortune to move a road so his property was not split). Many posh hotels and properties are interspersed with tiny chattel houses and all live in harmony.
We went snorkelling in the afternoon on the reef on our beach. The fish and corsl are fascinatin to watch.
We enjoyed the catch of the day - marlin. I font usualy eat much fish but have esten lots if flying fish, and swordfish.
