Better Science Policy in Canada

Today I was a guest speaker and panelist at the Better Science Policy in Canada workshop at the University of Toronto, Victoria College (aka Victoria University) erected in 1832. I spoke on Science Policy in the USA in the 1930s and 1940s re MIT and Robert J. Van de Graaff. I also spoke on Canadian defence industry spending, the decline of science journalism in Canada, and on the need for better communication about Canadian science to help Canadians understand what they are paying for and to get more active in the discourse about science in this country.

It was a very good workshop hosted by Students for the Right to Know, the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST), and Scientists for the Right to Know for members of the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science (CSHPS).
