Warming up....

A very hard overnight frost lead to a beautiful, cold and crisp sunny day. No wonder then that every pigeon in Bath seemed to be heading for Pulteney Bridge to warm themselves up in any patch of warm sunshine that they could find!

Built in 1774, Pulteney Bridge, like the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, is one of a handful of historic bridges in the world with shops built into it.

After my morning visit to Bath to hear a book talk by John Julius Norwich on 'Cities That Shaped The Ancient World', I had one of those afternoons that seemed to just disappear before it had even started!
