Tsukubai - Japanese Water Barrel
I have always been drawn to water. As a child I lived by a pond and a stream. My neighborhood group played in the stream almost every day. We hunted frogs, hopped across the rocks, and hid behind the trees there. When I first took swimming lessons I was a fish. I stayed in the water until I was blue and shivering.
I love the movement of water, the sound, and that clean feeling. It is alive. The water barrel brings this to mind for me. The trickle is steady and the barrel always full. The grasses behind it frame it and almost hide it, yet if you listen very carefully, you can hear the faint sound of the water as it becomes one with the barrel.
Peace.
