Still starlings!
I do get other birds on my feeder but the smaller ones go for the seed feeder which is higher than the fat balls. As the conservatory faces south I can't photograph the seed feeder until the afternoon otherwise I just get a silhouette against the sky. The fat balls, as well as having a larger platform so that the starlings can land on it, being lower down have the fence as a background so the exposure is better. Today I was using my 'proper' camera - the DSLR Sony alpha fitted with the 75 -300 zoom lens - the quality of the image is far better than my previous shot about 10 days ago - but the bird still hasn't got a tail as I had zoomed in too far again !
