First of the Year

After a long winter break it was a joy to get back to the Osborne House woodland today with the rest of the volunteers. I think time spent here amongst the fresh air,trees and wildlife is worth a week in any gym. 

As I was leaving I noticed many daffodils were pushing their  shoots out of the ground but in one sheltered corner were the first narcissi of the year in full bloom.
