Long Lasting Blooms

On 14th May last year, I came across a huge patch of daffodils up in the hills, still in flower after just about all of their cousins across the North East had long since 'gone over'.

Today, more than a year later, these specimens are still flowering in our garden at a much lower altitude. This despite their having already been out when the snow suddenly hit them several weeks ago now.
