Just a splash of cream
I had decided that some fruit and cream would be good to have today and I left a strawberry in the fridge for tonight's session, Unfortunately one of my daughters when they came in from school decided it was better in their stomach, so all i had left was a grape!
It was a simple setup. a bit of single cream in the spoon which i held over the sink with a clamp.
Black back drop. and a single strobe light off to the right. set to 1/32 power.
Focused the camera, set to manual and selected F8, 4 seconds exposure and ISO 100
again this method requires pitch black and a remote trigger for the flash, so after tea, the simple studio was set up by the sink, I pressed the shutter button and then dropped a grape from a few inches above the spoon and pressed the flash trigger, It was surprisingly easy to get the timing right and i only took 4 images in total.
It would have been better with the strawberry as we would have seen some of the fruit in the splash, although in this one I can see the bulge of the grape in the front of the splash.
Overall quite happy with this wee project.
Lets see what tomorrow brings !
